Back to back World cup race was this time in Les Gets, France. This venue has great history of racing and it was good to see it to host again World Cup race after 17 years of absence.
The track was really dusty and fast, with high speed sections above 70km/h! It had old school fast and flat grass turns with steep wooden part in between.
Žak was again our only rider racing World Cup in Les Gets. After leaving Andorra on a high note with 8th place, he was looking forward to race on this track. Unfortunately, his race weekend was cut short as he was too cautious and made some big mistakes on track for qualies. At the end it was enough for 33rd place. With really tight times, he was only 2.5 sec away from finals.
“I’m really frustrated how the day went… Didn’t felt good on the track the whole weekend, track was fast and slippery from dust, so it was hard to carry speed through sections. I had an awful qualies and missed the finals just by 2.5 seconds. Now it’s time for some time off and then I’ll be ready for some redemption in Val di Sole!” said Žak after qualification run.
We are also already looking for next world cup in Val di Sole where we will be present there with whole team effort.
